โฆ Synopsis
Polarographic stodies of copper(lI)-malonamide complex in alkaline medium
Copper(II) forms violet complexes with proteins, peptides, certain amides and related compounds in alkaline medium. The reaction is known as the biuret test and has been used for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of proteins. Spectrophotometric methods have been used for studying the reaction, but the poIarographic method was found to be especially suitable in determining the composition and stability of these complexes l'z.
