Abstract
Polarized Raman and IR spectra of a single KY(MoO~4~)~2~ crystal were measured in the 10–4000 cm^−1^ region and discussed in relation to the molecular and crystal structures. Spectroscopic data enabled us to reveal additional intermolecular interactions due to pair coupling of the molybdate tetrahedra verifying information on the crystal layer structure of double molybdates from the KLn(MoO~4~)~2~ family.
