A compact active ring antenna integrated for direct conversion or zero-IF detection is presented in this paper. The ring antenna with annular ring slot exhibits wide-bandwidth and high-gain performances. Meanwhile, the ring acting as a phase shifter provides the necessary 90°characteristics to opera
