A principios de siglo un equipo de científicos rusos emprende una expedición ártica, y descubren la entrada hacia otro mundo dentro de la tierra, donde un «sol» brilla por encima constantemente. La flora y la fauna son mas antiguas mientras se profundizan cada vez mas hacia el interior del planeta, y finalmente, llegan a un mundo de dinosaurios. En su retirada, acercándose a la entrada, encuentran una tribu de hombres-monos primitivos, asemejándose a Neanderthal…
