β¦ Synopsis
A series of five cases of pleomorphic adenocarcinoma of the pancreas is described and discussed. The tumor was characterized by its striking histology made up of mostly bizarre uninuclear and multinuclear giant cells, in some instances showing evidence of cannibalism. Tumor origin was in the acini in three patients and in the ductal epithelium in two. Due to its striking histologic picture, this tumor should be taken into consideration in the differential diagnosis of metastatic lesions with similar histologic features in order not to mistake it for other types of undifferentiated and unusual neoplasms.
LEOMORPHIC ADENOCARCINOMA OF THE PAN-P creas is a rare neoplasm.
