โฆ Synopsis
O,O-Alkylene dithiophosphate derivatives of the general formula /O\ Pt s2p\o/G [ I 2
(where G(OH)2 = 2,3dimethylbutane-2,3-diol; butane 2,3-diol; 2-methylpentane-2,4diol)
have been synthesized by treatment of potassium chloroplatinate(I1) with ammonium alkylene dithiophosphates in I:2 molar ratios. IR, NMR ('H and "P) and electronic spectra along with magnetic data indicate a fourcoordinated planar geometry for these derivatives similar to that reported for analogous dialkyl dithiophosphates of platinum(H).
With ligands like triphenyl-phosphine/-arsine, the above derivatives form coloured (yellow to brown) 1:l solid adducts which are soluble in halocarbons (CHC13 and CH2C12).
