The paper considers the axisymmetric problem of a circular edge crack on the inner surface of a long thick-walled cylinder constituted with an ideally elastic-plastic material. The walls of the cylinder are assumed to be stress free. Under axial loading, it is assumed that the plastic zone is a thin
