Abstract
InN is a unique material with a tendency for spontaneous formation of metallic indium particles during growth. To elucidate peculiarities related to plasmonic effects, the InN films have been grown either with or without such particles by molecular beam epitaxy using different growth regimes. Studies of the films have demonstrated that their optical properties are influenced by both absorption and electromagnetic enhancement related to the metallic clusters. Basic optical parameters of InN with the metallic inclusions are considered in relation to a cluster shape and orientation with respect to the electric field vector. The origin of infrared emission is discussed. (Β© 2006 WILEYβVCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
