✦ Synopsis

Abstract

The plant growth‐regulating activity on tomato plants of S‐carboxymethyl‐N,N‐dimethyldithiocarbamate and of structurally related compounds has been investigated. Activity is connected with the electronic configuration of the molecules, viz. with a distinct degree of double‐bond character of the NC bond. In addition, however, sterical factors seem to be of decisive significance for presence or absence of growth‐regulating activity.
