Reliability of Supply
About two-thirds of GM's annual gas consumption goes to process applications such as paint ovens, heat-treat furnaces and direct-fired space heaters. The installed process equipment is designed to bum gas exclusively: It will not accept alternate fuels. A gas interruption causes an immediate production interruption.
