Shellability of Complexes of Trees
✍ Henryk Trappmann; GΓΌnter M Ziegler πŸ“‚ Article πŸ“… 1998 πŸ› Elsevier Science 🌐 English βš– 504 KB

We show that for all k 1 and n 0 the simplicial complexes T (k) n of all leaflabelled trees with nk+2 leaves and all interior vertices of degrees kl+2 (l 1) are shellable. This yields a direct combinatorial proof that they are Cohen Macaulay and that their homotopy types are wedges of spheres.

The stabilization of homogeneous cubic v
✍ M.A. Hammami; H. Jerbi πŸ“‚ Article πŸ“… 1994 πŸ› Elsevier Science 🌐 English βš– 376 KB

In this paper, we deal with the stabilizability of homogeneous polynomials of degree three by means of homogeneous feedbacks of degree two. Keywords-Homogeneous polynomials of degree three, Nonlinear systems, Homogeneous feedbacks of degree two, Stabilizability.

Bifurcations of plane wave (CW) solution
✍ Stefan C. Mancas; S.Roy Choudhury πŸ“‚ Article πŸ“… 2007 πŸ› Elsevier Science 🌐 English βš– 293 KB

Singularity Theory is used to comprehensively investigate the bifurcations of the steady states of the traveling wave ODEs of the cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau equation (CGLE). These correspond to plane waves of the PDE. In addition to the most general situation, we also derive the degeneracy condit
