✦ Synopsis
The method of calculation of the H -mode radiation from 11 a circular wa¨eguide with a plane logarithmic spiral in the aperture into a dielectric half space is presented. The calculations of radiation patterns and polarization characteristics for the ¨arious spiral parameters and permitti¨ities of irradiated media ha¨e been carried out. It was established that there exists some set of the system parameters and wa¨elengths, for which the pattern widths and ellipticity coefficients G 0.5 remain constant in the 40% frequency band.

## Abstract A fast technique is proposed to determine the complex propagation constants of the leaky and Berenger modes of circular dielectric waveguides terminated by a perfectly matched layer (PML). The method relies on a coordinate transformation in the complex plane and uses the approximate ana
