✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A novel and simple design of a printed circular patch antenna for ultra‐wideband application with a band‐notched characteristic is presented. By cutting a pie‐shaped slot on the circular radiating patch, a frequency band notch will be created. The cutting pie depth contributes to the notch center frequency and notch bandwidth while the pie flare angle contributes to the notch bandwidth. It is easy to design a specific notch band range by adjusting the cutting pie size. The position of cutting pie is also investigated. Details of the proposed designs and experimental results of the constructed prototypes are presented. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract Many research works have emerged for ultra‐wideband (UWB) systems. One important issue is the antenna design to cover all frequency bands (3.1–10.6 GHz). In most applications, a reduced compact antenna is needed but with several requirements. In this paper, a novel triangle–semicircular

## Abstract A new tunable band‐notched ultra wideband planar monopole antenna is presented. The proposed antenna consists of a wideband planar monopole antenna, band‐notched resonating stubs, and varactor diodes. To generate the tunable band‐notched characteristic, we applied a short‐circuited quar

In this paper, we propose trapezoidal ultra-wideband (UWB) antennas that have a notch function. The proposed antennas cover the entire UWB band and have a notch for the IEEE 802.11a frequency band (5.15-5.825 GHz) by varying the shape of the slot inserted into the antenna. To obtain a frequency-notc

## Abstract In this article, the design and analysis of a CPW‐fed UWB antenna with dual band‐notched characteristics are presented. The measured bandwidth defined by VSWR <2 of the proposed antenna is from 2.8 to 11.7 GHz, except the bandwidths of 3.35–4.35 GHz for WiMAX and C‐band satellite commun
