Plagiarism continues to be an unfortunate, though thankfully uncommon, occurrence in peer-reviewed scientific publications. The pressure to publish for professional advancement and, in some cases, financial gain, can tempt authors to plagiarize the works of others or to submit their own previously published work without attribution. And in our electronic age, the ease with which text and figures can be cut-and-pasted makes unintended plagiarism a possibility for even the most honorable author. The Editors and the members of the Editorial Advisory Board have taken recent steps to strengthen the position of the Journal of Orthopaedic Research on plagiarism:
The Journal is a member of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adheres to its definitions and guidelines on the integrity of peer-reviewed publication.
