Rising raw material costs force price rises
T he increasing oil and other raw material prices have led to a wide range of material price rises for polymer materials.
Chemtura Corp has announced a rise of up to 20% for Adiprene, Vibrathane and Vibracure polyurethane products, depending on their exposure to rising energy, feedstock and transportation costs. These will become effective immediately, or as contracts allow.
DuPont Performance Elastomers has announced a price increase of 10% for Viton fluoroelastomers due to the continued increases in raw materials, energy, and distribution costs.
Dow Chemical raised the prices of 'all its products by up to 20%" from the 1 June 2008'.
