After losing her family, Piper Novak is taking a hiatus from her family's private detective agency to write suspense/thriller novels. While engaging with her critique group on her online forum, a troll posts some disturbing comments--'The only way to write about a convincing psycho and murder scene is to do it in real life and write it from your experience,' he says.
One by one, the members of her critique group go missing and snuff videos along with chapter snippets of their torturous demise are posted on the forum. He's saving her for last, he says in a note tacked to her shed.
