We report preliminary results for the I = 2 pion scattering length a0, calculated with chirally improved fermions. After chiral extrapolation our results are in good agreement with both, experimental and theoretical predictions.

A new approach to the problem of doubling [l] is presented with the Dirac-Kghler (DK) theory as a starting point and using Geometric Discretisation 121 providing us with a new way of extracting the Dirac field in the discrete setting of a hyper-cubic complex.
