✦ Synopsis
see the development of an integrated demonstration biorefinery by end-2011 that will serve as a model for their commercial-scale plans at wood products facilities and sugar mills. The project involves the installation of ClearFuels' biomass gasification system called High Efficiency Hydrothermal Reformer at Rentech's product demonstration unit (PDU) in Commerce City, CO. ClearFuels' gasification system will be connected to Rentech's Fisher-Tropsch technology-based syngas-to-liquid process. The integration will allow the PDU, which has been using natural gas to produce drop-in synthetic fuels, to make 100% renewable fuels from virgin biomass such as wood waste and sugarcane bagasse.
