โœฆ Synopsis

YAG laser coupled to a streak camera was employed to measure the decay of rose bengal fluorescence in aqueous micellar solutions. The results indicate that water molecules near the micellar interface have different protonicity from those in bulk solution. At low surfactant concentration multiple occupancy of probe molecllles may lead to S1 -S1 mutual annihilation.
