✦ Synopsis

Fluorescence quenching of adsorbed rhodamine B due to energy transfer from fluorescing monomer end dimer to nonfluorescing aggregate species was observed and explained with Forster-type energy transfer. The fluorescence of rhodamine B dimer could be detected at 300 K and two types of adsorbed monomer were found to exist at ambient temperature.
