โฆ Synopsis
Photobleaching and absorption recovery of the fundamental state of 3,3'diethyloxadicarbocyanine iodide (DODCI) in ethanolic solution have been investigated using a single pulse from a mode-locked rhodamine 6G dye laser. The absorption recovery time constant r = (1.0 r 0.2) ns is consistent with our previous measurement of the fluorescence lifetime r = (1.2 + 0.3) ns. No short component of the absorption relaxation has been found, confirming the absence of any non-Iinear effect.
