The effect of hydrogen during the pretreatment stage of CoAPO-5 and CoAPSO-5 molecular sieves on the status of cob& ions has been studied. Cobalt migration from framework to extra framework positions and formation 01' metal cobalt is observed. The conversion of methanol is used as a model reaction f

The acidic sites of aluminophosphate (AIPO-5) and silicoaluminophosphate (SAPO-5) molecular sieves have been investigated using diffuse reflectance i.r. spectroscopy, temperature-programmed desorption (t.p.d.) of NH3, and catalytic activity in the cracking of cumene and oligomerization of ethylene.
