✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Electronic absorption spectra of compounds containing a thiocarbonyl group bound to carbon, sulphur or oxygen are reported. The spectra were taken, whenever possible, in cyclohexane, ethanol and concentrated sulphuric acid.
The bands are compared with those of nitrogen‐containing thiones and an empirical assignment of the different types of bands is given.
