The attenuated total reflection (ATR) technique has been used to obtain infrared spectra of heat-set poly(ethy1ene terephthalate) ( P E T ) fibers. The trans and gauche content have been estimated from the ahsorhances of the trans hand at 1342 cm-', the gauche hand a t 1370 cm-', and the internal st
