## Abstract Metal phthalocyanine oligomers that possess peripheral carboxylic acid groups were prepared by the reaction of pyromellitic dianhydride, a metal salt, urea, and a catalyst. These materials have blue to purple colors with a metallic luster and are soluble in sulfuric acid, dimethylsulfox
