✦ Synopsis
Studies relating t o the penetration of solar radiation into the waters of inland lakes have been carried on by the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey for a considerable number of years. These observations have furnished a basis for the investigations regarding the seasonal changes in the temperature of the water that have been in progress for some years and they also constitute a foundation for the studies of the photosynthesis of aquatic plants that have been made in recent years. The work on photosynthesis has been carried on each summer a t the Trout Lake Laboratory since 1932.
