Abstract
In this article, the doubleβdoped Hf:Ce:LiNbO~3~ crystals were grown by the Czochralski method and its photorefractive properties were systematically studied. Samples were treated with different oxidation/reduction. The photorefractive properties of Hf:Ce:LiNbO~3~ crystals were investigated by the twoβbeam coupling method. The results shown that the photorefractive properties of Hf:Ce:LiNbO~3~ crystals were improved as compared with that of Ce:LiNbO~3~ crystals. The oxidation/reduction treatment had great effect on the photorefractive properties and the doping mechanism was also discussed. Β© 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract Hf(2mol%):Fe(0.05wt%):LiNbO~3~ crystals with various [Li]/[Nb] ratios of 0.94, 1.05, 1.2 and 1.38 have been grown. The photorefractive resistant ability increases with the accretion of [Li]/[Nb] ratio. When the ratio of [Li]/[Nb] is 1.20 or 1.38, the OH^β^ absorption band shifts to abou
The near sotichiometric Ce:LiNbO 3 (Ce:SLN) crystals were grown by the top seeded solution growth (TSSG) method by adding K 2 O flux to Li 2 O-Nb 2 O 5 melt. Their UV-vis absorption spectra and IR spectra were measured and discussed to investigate their defect structure. The results showed that the
Near-stoichiometric LiNbO 3 single crystal tri-doped with ZrO 2 , MnO and Fe 2 O 3 was grown from Li-riched melt by Czochralski method. The defect structures and composition of these crystals were analyzed by means of ultraviolet-visible and infrared transmittance spectra. The appearance of 3466 cm
