## Abstract The reaction of one g.‐atom sulphur, six g.‐atoms bromine and an excess of water has been studied. The reaction takes place in at least two steps, the first being the formation of sulphur mono‐bromide, the second the reaction of this compound with bromine and water. The reaction results
