✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A photonics true‐time‐delay (TDD) system using a chirped grating and a novel fiber‐ring laser is proposed and demonstrated. A high‐birefringence fiber‐loop mirror (HiBi‐FLM) is integrated in the laser cavity to act as a polarization‐independent wavelength filter. By properly adjusting the polarization controllers in the HiBi‐FLM, desirable lasing wavelength and number or wavelength spacing can be achieved. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
