✦ Synopsis

A photonic integrated-optic RF phase modulator with harmonic up-con¨ersion for digital microwa¨e link applications is presented. This de¨ice achie¨es both electrical phase modulation and harmonic up-con¨ersion of an electrical local oscillator dri¨ing signal. Simulation results are pro¨ided for a se¨enth-harmonic 38.5 GHz transmission of a 155 Mbit r s 8-PSK signal through a 1 km fiber span.
