โฆ Synopsis
Jfeasuring the photoelectron branching ratios of the outer and inner valence emission of ethylene as a function of phoron energy betwen 40 and 200 eV_ we are able to identify the various photoemi~ion lines. As theory predicrs, the sir@ particle picture breaks down for the innermost valence orbital (2~18). The photoemission from thii orbital is spread ocer two lines which are also degenerate with other excited stite configurations of the ion_ This leads to interference effects which are indeed observed in the cross section of these lines.
