✦ Synopsis


An electromagnetic propagator formalism is used to calculate the local field in a quantum-well structure consisting of two electronically coupled identical wells each containing only one bound state. Therefore, the photon-drag current, arising as a result of the nonlinear response to the prevailing field, is determined as function of the photon energy and the angle of incidence of the driving field. It is shown that the photon-drag current can be modified significantly by changing the electronic coupling between wells.
