✦ Synopsis

New measurements

of mass attenuation coefficients of y rays in materials containing hydrogen, carbon, and oxygen in the energy range 0.05&1.333 MeV are reported. The hydrogen weight ratio ranges from 0.055 to 0.177. The experimental results are analyzed in terms of the total cross-sections, effective atomic numbers and electron densities. A comparison between the present mass attenuation coefficients and existing compilations is discussed.
