The chelate is quantitatively formed only in the pH range 6.5-7.5. Despite the large stability constant, a large excess of reagent is required to suppress interferences. The most suitable wavelength for the photometric measurement is 500 nm, where the molar absorptivity is 1.607 x 10(4) 1.mole(-1).
