## Abstract We report the synthesis and characterization of a new ferroelectric liquid crystalline side chain copolymer containing photoisomerizable chromophores and non‐photoisomerizable mesogenic units. On illumination with UV‐light a suppression of the polar order is obtained as indicated by a s
