The luminescence of NaGdF,:Ce,Eu has been investigated. After excitation of Ce 3+ ions at room temperature, energy transfer to the Gd3+ ions occurs, followed by migration over this sublattice to the Ed+ ions, resulting mainly in Eu3+ emission. At liquidhelium temperatures mainly Gd3+ 6P trap emissio
