Abstract

The photoluminescence (PL) and thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) properties of CaSO~4~:Sm and CaSO~4~:Ce,Sm are studied. After X irradiation of CaSO~4~:Sm, an obvious Sm^3+^/Sm^2+^ redox process is observed. The Ce co‐doping is responsible for the presence of an intense TSL peak at about 485/500 °C, showing an interesting application in high temperature radiation dosimetry.
