Experimental evidence is provided to show that the Ar,( 'Z: ) excimer is photoionized by absorption of light at 308 nm. This direct photoionization of Ar2 ('C : ) was used to measure the distribution of atomic states belonging to the Ar( 3ps4p) electronic manifold produced in dissociative recombinat
