β¦ Synopsis
The photoinitiated radical copolymerization of difunctional vinyl ether/ unsaturated polyester containing maleate has been studied by differential photocalorimetry. The copolymerization kinetics were found to be affected by various factors, such as the composition, the photoinitiator concentration, the light intensity and the presence of oxygen. No temperature effect on the copolymerization was found. The mixture of vinyl ether and unsaturated polyester containing maleate was studied by fluorospectrophotmetry and the existence of a complex of electron donor-acceptor was detected.

The photo-induced copolymerisation of electron donor/electron acceptor monomers has been studied by real-time infrared spectroscopy. With stoichiometric maleimide-vinyl ether mixtures, the reaction was found to proceed within seconds upon UV exposure. For systems with an excess of vinyl ether, the t
Cationic copolymerization of octadecyl vinyl ether (ODVE) with isobutyl vinyl ether (IBVE) under reaction conditions leading to living vinyl ether polymerization has been studied. The experimental results show that, under such conditions, the living nature of the copolymerization can be retained. Th
Two novel trifluorovinyl ether (TFVE) monomers were copolymerized with either ethyl vinyl ether (EVE) or vinyl acetate (VAc) in a redox-initiated aqueous emulsion: 1-(2-phenoxyethoxy)-1,2,2-trifluoroethene (Ph-TFVE) and 1-[2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethoxy]-1,2,2-trifluoroethene (Et-TFVE). A kinetic study of the independent and simultaneous photoinitiated cationic polymerization of a number of epoxide and vinyl (enol) ether monomer pairs was conducted. The results show that, although no appreciable copolymerization takes place, these monomers undergo complex interactions with one anot
