Aligned carbon nanotube reinforced carbon matrix (ACNT/C) composites were fabricated by densifying an ACNT preform with chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) and their microstructure was investigated by XRD, SEM, HRTEM, polarized light microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. Results show that the pyrocarbon
