## Background and objective: The only early surgical therapy of rheumatoid arthritis is synovectomy. but even an arthroscopic synovectomy is restricted to more or less big joints. it has been shown recently that for smaller joints a laser synovectomy is possible but more time-consuming than with me

โฆ Synopsis
The only hope for cure in patients with cholangiocarcinoma is curative surgical resection. Unfortunately it can only performed in less than half of the patients. In the palliative setting endoprostheses insertion improves cholestasis. Survival time is not prolonged. The most promising conventional antitumoral therapy is chemotherapy with cisplatin and gemcitabine. However, randomized trials showing a clear survival advantage of chemo-or radiotherapy are missing. Photodynamic therapy utilizing photo-physical properties of lightabsorbing drugs to efficiently generate reactive cytotoxic oxygen species has shown efficacy in several pilot studies, retrospective comparative studies and two prospective, randomized studies. Here, we review mechanism of action, technique, and efficacy of photodynamic therapy for cholangiocarcinoma. Lasers Surg. Med. 43:776-780, 2011.

Background and Objective: Combined use of topical 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) and blue light is an approved photodynamic therapy (PDT) for actinic keratoses (AK). It has been suggested by Strasswimmer that ambient light may activate 5-ALA. The purpose of this study was to assess whether 5-ALA was

## Abstract ## Introduction Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a minimally invasive surgical intervention used in the management of tissue disorders. It can be applied before, or after, any of the conventional modalities, without compromising these treatments or being compromised itself. ## Materials
