✦ Synopsis

A model is proposed for predicting the OH(21-1 ) spin-orbit and A-doublet and Ci(2p) spin-orbit product state distributions resulting from the photodissociation of HOCI via its 1 ~A" excited state. The model predicts that the OH(II(A")) Adoublet states will be preferentially populated but that there will be no strong preference for either OH spin-orbit state. Some correlation between the OH and CI spin-orbit states is also predicted. Comparisons are made with predicted quantum state distributions resulting from the photodissociation of HOC! via its 2 1A' state.
