โฆ Synopsis
Analytical solutions are obtained for photocurrent and photovoltage from a polycrystalline p-n junction solar cell by modelling it as a filament with large surface recombination velocities at its lateral surfaces. While the calculation of light-generated current (short-circuit current) does not require an exact knowledge of the surface recombination velocity S, the dark forward current cannot be calculated without its knowledge.
