✦ Synopsis
Photobleaching of disubstituted (methyl and phenyl) anthracenes in thin polymer films has been observed under inert atmosphere with both direct and triplet sensitized excitation, exhibiting both wavelength and intensity dependence of quantum yields (which are in the range z 10-2-10-'). The data arc consistent with a reaction between a highly excited anthracene triplet and the polymer.
