The photochemistry of aqueous solutrons of iodide and bromide is investigated in the presence of high concentrations (2 x 10m2 M < C c 1.2 M) of nitrous oxide. In the iodide system, the photo-oxidation yfeids depend markedly on [N20]. The effect is attributed to the scavenging of solvated electrons
