โœฆ Synopsis

m e oxidation of aqueous solutions of phenol as a typical model pollutant has been carried out in the presence of an ultra-violet (W) irradiated TiO, catalyst in a CDC reactor. The CDCR was fitted with internally mounted 30 W and 1.0 kW W lamps. The reactions

A method for removal of cyanides from water is described. The method involves the air oxidation of cyanides in a fixed bed reactor with cocurrent downflow. Effects of parameters such as temperature, concentration, gas and liquid flow rates on the oxidation yield are studied. It was observed that the

## Abstract **BACKGROUND:** Studies with peroxidases (EC 1.11.1.7) have demonstrated extended lifetimes for conversion of phenolics into insoluble polymers in the presence of polyethylene glycol (PEG). Yet the mechanism of this โ€˜PEG effectโ€™ has eluded investigators. The effectiveness of a laccase (
