โœฆ Synopsis

Photolysis of lindane in aqueous solution, using near-visible and UV light (j [ 320 nm) and in the presence of the polyoxometallate results PW 12

O 40 3~, in its conversion to and HCl. Initial photodecomposition takes place within CO 2 a few minutes both in the presence and absence of dioxygen. The e โ€ ective mineralization in the absence of dioxygen suggests that OH radicals act as the primary oxidant in this case.

Photochemical degradation of benzotriazole is investigated in aqueous solution at 25ยกC and pH values varying in the range 3รˆ11. The quantum yields at di โ€ erent pH values are evaluated by analysing the kinetics of the reacting system. Reaction kinetics are markedly a โ€ ected by pH because of its inร‘ue
