✦ Synopsis
Ihe semi-empirical version of Marcus' theory of electron transfer is slightly modified in order to account for the perturbing influence of the Na+ ion in the photo-ionization of associates of aromhtichydrocarbon negative ions and Naf ions. As an example j qualitatite interpretation is given of the photo-ionization of mono-sodium teirarrne in ?-MTKF both by direct excitation into higher excited states and by ZI bi-photonic excitation with ns ruby laser pulses. In general there are two channels for electron ejection, one mainly leading to the production of free solvatedelectrons and z second one producing NcI+; e ion-pairs. 'Fhe thermodynamic threshold of the former one is located at a higher fEcquencY.
