โฆ Synopsis
Measurements have been made of the longitudinal phosphoms-31 magnetic relaxation of phosphocreatine in Hz0 and D20 solutions from 2 78 to 333 K at 12 I. 5 and at 40.5 MHz. The phosphorus-3 1 spin-lattice relaxation of phosphocreatine is dominated by intermolecular and intramolecular dipolar and chemical-shift anisotropy interactions. The relative contribution of the two interactions to the spin-lattice relaxation changes with NMR frequency. Activation energies characterizing the solution dynamics of the phosphocreatine molecule in Hz0 and D20 are 15.4 f 1.1 and 14.6 + 1 .O kJ/mol, respectively.
