โฆ Synopsis
Phosphorescence decay times of 1 ,l,l-trifluoroncetone in the vapour phue have been measured as a function of pressure of ketone with low-pmver
e:icitation from il pulsed N2 laser. A strong pressure dependence is observed, yielding a rate constant for selfquenchiag of (4.6 t 0.5) X IO6 P mol-' s-' , and an extrapolated zero-prcssurc! lifetime oi 60 ps, considerably shorter than th.at measured earlier in a higher-energy flash photolysis experiment. Reasons for these differences are discussed.
